Incomplete NRO list & other cases

Dear Editor: The much awaited NRO beneficiary list has finally seen the light of the day. However, I have my doubts on its authenticity. Many names have been either deliberately left out or conveniently forgotten. The reader may challenge my assumptions. But to prove my point, I would like to question the missing name of Benazir Bhutto, Nasir Hussain, food for oil programme company directors, foreign partners of Cotecna company etc. In all these cases Benazir Bhutto and Asif Zardari were convicted by the foreign court. Shermilla Farouqi's locker search yielded millions of rupees in cash, many kilograms of gold and gold ornaments and innumerable diamond necklaces. Where is her name? This person is currently the adviser to the Sindh Chief Minister and her father and uncle's names already figure in the announced list. . Again there are statements from the so called affectees of NRO that their names have been included due to oversight and that they did not seek any benefit under this infamous ordinance. This needs to be now established by the courts Another question which arises on the admissibility of NRO is the case of Yousuf Raza Gillani 's wife. This person happens to be the Prime Minister of Pakistan. His spouse has been guilty of willful default and obtained undue favour by being asked to pay Rs. 45.5 million only against the total liabilities of Rs 570 million. Shouldn?t the PM resign and his spouse faces the court? There are also many other crimes like cutting down of forests and selling of the timber illegally, obtaining of loans and getting them waived and many many more cases of corruption. Again my question is. Is leaving out confirmed names a deliberate attempt to colour the issue of NRO and provide an escape route to these so called gentlemen and ladies. I urge the honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan to direct the Government of Pakistan to put all the persons whose names adorn the NRO beneficiary list on exit control list so that they do not escape and avoid facing their charges in the court. Also, he should cover all waivers of loans and other cases of corruption as a suo moto cognizance dove tailing it with NRO hearing.
