Street crimes are on the rise in the port city of Karachi, Pakistan.  Everyday a couple of people loose their lives 
resisting to a robbery attempt. This could come as a surprise to you but its all true. Streets of Karachi are no more safe walk out places. Most of these crimes are for mobile snatching.
These street crimes in Karachi has reached an unprecedented and frightening level. For that reason , the sense of insecurity among its 10 million plus citizens has never been more acute. Even a cursory look at the happenings of the last few days in the nation?s biggest city and commercial and industrial hub is enough to send shivers down the spine. 
Police say that they are taking strict measures to control street crime in Karachi in which hundreds of people are robbed of their mobile telephones, cash or vehicles daily. Shoaib Suddle, the inspector general of Sind police, said that "combating street crimes and incidents of terrorism was his number one priority".
The police now plan to install more than 2,000 cameras in the sensitive areas of the city to combat crime, he said.
However, most citizens say that they feel insecure even in the main commercial and business districts of Karachi where criminal incidents are a daily occurrence.
